MB mid 2014 often had lag and fan running

So, I am happy that I maanage to bought my first macbook pro mid 2014 (retina) with OSX Yosemite, and also some update after couple of months. It worked very well.

I love it, because not like other laptop or computer, the fan noise is so minimal, I might have hear it, in middle of updating the OSX, otherwise, I can hear nothing inside this MBpro.

But after I updated this to El Capitan, I often get this MB lag, and the fan running.

It makes me thinking that something went wrong with my MBPro.

Do you all have the same problem?

MacBook Pro (Retina, 13-inch, Mid 2014), OS X El Capitan (10.11)

It is possible you have downloaded something that is using your CPU, generating heat, and thus your fans are running loud.

If it is Adware (not uncommon, as they use many tricks to get you to install their software when you think you are installing something else). You could try MalwareBytes Anti-Malware (formally AdwareMedic)

You could post the output from EtreCheck and let the forum analyze it for common 3rd party additions that frequently cause problems for users, especially when changing the operating system, and the 3rd party addition is not tailored to the new OS

A common source of 3rd party additions that cause performance issues are anti-malware products, Mac cleaning products, memory cleaning products. None of these are recommended by the long term forum contributors.

No. I said 3rd party "ADDITIONS". The kind that stay with your system and run 24/7. I know it is fine distinction, but it is the terminology used in the forum, and I'm guilty of throwing out as if everyone understands.

MalwareBytes is a run it once, then you can throw it away if you like.

Also the Mac version of MalwareBytes was written by a well respected Apple Discussions Forum contributor (r_thomas), so it is trusted to just do what it says.

But if you like, then try these manual instructions from Apple

<https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT203987>

Or you can use these instructions

<http://www.thesafemac.com/arg/>

MalwareBytes knows what to look for.

And the same goes for EtreCheck. It is a utility written by another forum contributor (etresoft). It collects information when you run it. It does not use privileges. It does not phone home. It presents the information to you, and you can do what you want with it. If you wish you can search the forums for EtreCheck output and find thousands of posts. Generally the users that have posted EtreCheck output have received useful help.

If you do not like the EtreCheck approach, find a post by Linc Davis which has instructions on collecting information manually (there are hundreds, maybe thousands of those in the forums; EtreCheck is just easier).
