Question: Is Office 2011 now compatible with El Capitan?

Microsoft just did an update to Office 2011, but didn't say anything about compatibility with El Cap. Are people finding that office is working properly now? I want to update to EC but need Office for work so can't do so until its resolved.

Thanks all.

Answer:

While Office 2016 as a whole is having severe problems under El Capitan, Office 2011 apparently only had issues in Outlook 2011. This supposedly has been fixed in the 14.5.6 update you are referring to.

However unless you have a pressing need I would still advise to wait a while longer before upgrading to El Capitan as many people feel it is not yet stable enough for work purposes. For example CardDav support is extremely broken in El Capitan. 😟

Weirdness is that MS sent me the 12.5.7 update in the auto update today, which i did, but it turns out the update that was addressing the incompatibility with El Cap is 12.5.6. So downloading that after words off of MS website, it won't update, seeing a new version already on. So I'm trying to fine if it included the 12.5.6. Yes I won't be updating for a bit. Thanks for your response.
