Q: App in iphone but not in home screen after new set up from backup

Got a new iPhone 6s and set up from a iCloud backup from my old 5c -running iOS 9- after the upgrade my NYTimes app is there but not in the home screen: App Store is telling me the app is in my phone and I can open it but icon is not there -search does not find it neither

 

notice the app belong to the former newsstand...
