Error 1429: Can't Reset/Restore/Recognize iPod Shuffle

I have a 2nd generation iPod Shuffle. I'm trying to connect it to my computer but it says it's corrupted. Here are the steps I've taken.


1. Connect to iTunes, Restore and Update. It freezes after it says it was successful and that it will reconnect to iTunes. It never reconnects, so I disconnect the iPod and try again.


2. Use Disk Utility. I've reported the iPod on MS-Dos (FAT) like 15 times. It says it's successful. I then open iTunes and it says, welcome to your new iPod, please update it. I go to update it and I get error 1429 AGAIN.


3. Rinse, repeat.


4. iPod Reset Utility... It says, waiting for iPod to become ready. I can't reset it. It doesn't recognize it.

Anything else I'm missing?
