Q: MAPS app to zooms into the pin drop - very annoying
I made the big jump from Google Maps to Apple Maps....because let's face it...Google has lost it's mind and keeps turning what it has as great into all things - NOT-Scottish!
I have one complaint about the new MAPS...I did not use MAPS for years...it because it was unusable for someone in NYC who uses the subway, busses and streets....everywhere which is not all about me..but also about 8 million people a day...but I digress..I am not alone.
Anyway...so now they fixed the transit info...it's very usable!! and faster than
But even for anyone who is learning about geographic regions...and wants to see how places relate to one another...the zooming in on a pin drop after searcing is really really really really annoying. It feels like Maps is assuming I live on a one stop-light town and zooms to a 20 mile radius!!!
When are planning a long road trip or just doing it for geographic reference fun....I would like to search the area and see where the pin drops within my set view according to the scale I've set. Even if the pin is out of view..I would like to stay at the "same elevation" viewpoint.
I'm surprised this is a no a user preference that can be set or at least not brought up as one annoyance at one Apple meeting in the past 5 years!!!!
Anyway..I hope I'm not the only one.
