Safari keeps crashing/freezing after install of El Capitan

After the install of El Capitan, Safari 9.0 keeps locking up and or crashing.

I have a Mac Book Pro 15'' 2.3 GHz i7, 4GB Memory, 500 GB HD, iOS 10.11

When using Safari, I will have class work up and YouTube or iTunes playing. Before El Capitan it would do those processes with out a problem. Now it seems to lock up, unable to refresh, unable to exit Safari. I have to force quit and shutdown to try and get control back. Occasionally even after the shut down it will still lock up.

Thank you. Results below. I think it's mentioned above, but disabling lastpass and omnikey didn't help.

Nov 27, 2015 11:23 AM in response to 49_FiveWindow

I'm still having huge problems whenever I use Safari for YouTube content.

Again - the system came to a grinding halt. This time, it happened after closing a window in Safari while watching content on YouTube. The machine locked up for about a minute. Now it's running like molasses. Restarting always brings everything back to normal. Again, this doesn't happen with Chrome. It's isolated to Safari and YouTube. t've posted the info from Console again below. I grabbed what showed up just after the system was half-conscious again.

Lagging issue in Firefox and Safari. I love force quitting and restarting over and over. It is fun. Thank you Apple for seeking to force us all to use Opera or some other web service, or jumping ship altogether. I am relieved to see this issue is not my own. Beware back up drive issue that is appearing for Apple recommended Toshiba drives. We all know what they did to WD and iOmega back up drives, thank you Apple for destroying 20 years of publications, photographs and music and then saying it is you not us. TWO drives, not one, heaven forbid one 1T back up drive was safe. 2, we are forced to buy 2, what next, 4, 6, 12 back up drives? When is enough, enough?

Nov 30, 2015 2:13 AM in response to H. Lamar Thomas

I had exactly the same problem as everyone mentioned. I used El Capitan for 2 weeks and just last weekend Safari crashed about 8 times and rebooted my iMac, causing my HD to become corrupt. Now my iMac doesn't even recognize my HD and im afraid I lost everything. I can't reach my HD files in Targetmode 😟

Thank you apple for destroying my work!

Dec 1, 2015 5:14 PM in response to MT020

Just to confirm that my problem seems to be the same as everyone's with YouTube.

Today I tried to close the YT tab and the laptop just froze, so I had to force restart.

Month ago I wrote here and I still don't see what could be the problem...

Frustrated that nobody from Apple support or customer service reads this so whats the point of this discussions then?

Dec 1, 2015 9:26 PM in response to neolukas

It has been aggravating...makes Safari not only unusable, but a problem for the whole system. When mine freezes, I wait for more than a minute sometimes, then the system starts functioning...but slow enough that I usually end up restarting a few minutes later. It's ridiculous that this hasn't been resolved.

Dec 2, 2015 5:12 AM in response to Adam F

I don't know the answer, nor, at this time do i have time to do your detective work. But i do have a couple of observations.

1. its not normal - its not an El Cap "bug". Mine works fine, as do most others'

2. If it occurs with youtube, could it be a flash player related issue? We all know Apple and Flash dont get along all that well

3. You have a lot of 3rd party helper extensions loaded; and many are graphics related. Coincidence? Maybe.

4. Or it could be good-sold-fashioned data corruption. You might try to delete relevant preferences or find a way to do a clean re-install (without killing your data and apps) Thre *used* to be something called "archive and install". Maybe someone geekier and more up to date than me can clarify the current status

Dec 2, 2015 5:20 PM in response to Grant Lenahan

Thank you, Grant. I've done a lot of the detective work...what I am able to.

I don't have Flash installed.

I did do a clean install since the problem started.

I've tried turning off the Safari extensions.

I've reset prefs.

Just had another incident. All was fine. I accidentally went to YouTube on Safari. Just after closing the window, the system just hung for just about a minute (see 12/2/15 5:08:16.157 PM to 12/2/15 5:09:09 below). I've copied the console log around that time below. You can see the inactivity while the system was stuck. Another note. When it happens, "File" in the Safari menu is blue while nothing else seems to happen - the entire time.
