The following is a comprehensive list of currently supported printer and scanner models and associated software provided by third-party vendors as of 8 October 2015: Printer and scanner software available for download for your Mac

I do not recommend HP for new printer purchases. Consider a manufacturer that visibly supports OS X. HP does not qualify.
