Q: more than one Apple ID

I have more than one apple ID.  One is for an email I no longer have, one is for the iCloud and one is for my primary.  My iPad asks for the dead email, my computer and app store ask for my primary and my apple id for iCloud is an @iCloud address. So how do I pare it down to just one?

iMac (Retina 5K, 27-inch, Late 2014), OS X Yosemite (10.10.1)

Just because your email address is no longer used didn't invalidate that AppleID. You should have just changed the email address associated with that AppleID.

You will not be able to "pare it down" as AppleID's cannot be merged or transferred. You will need to continue using the old AppleID when you need to update the stuff you purchased using that AppleID.

You can sign out of all of your devices that use the old AppleID, then sign back in using the new one, but you will still need to remember the old password so that you can update any software purchased with that AppleID.
