Q: has anybody elses froze while downloading and not allowed it to resume?

I started downloading El Capitan and my router froze up and the download stopped. Now when I try to resume the download it freezes my apps store and will not allow it do anything. And if it doesn't freeze my apps store it will just blank out the resume button like it has already been pressed. Therefore not allowing my system to do anything with the download it self. I already tried deleting the program but because it has not downloaded all the way it will not let me. I have also restarted my computer several times to get it to work but still the same problem. So my question is does anyone know how to fix this problem?
