Magic Trackpad 2 and El Capitan - not finding trackpad

Hi all

I've jut received my new Magic Trackpad 2 and it seems to partially work but El Capitan doesn't see that it's there i.e. if I go to Bluetooth it recognises that it's attached however if I go into System Preferences and click on Trackpad icon it tells me that a trackpad hasn't been found so I can't adjust it or see any of the special features.

Is there an OSX update to support this hardware? Running the App Store doesn't seem to show one.

Just finding this it seems that I might need to wait until the 10.11.1 update releases (no idea when this is planned to drop)

I am having the exact same problem and I am using the 10.11 public beta on a 2012 MacMini with Bluetooth 4.0.

I had the same problem I fixed it by downreving the software the the release version syncing the magic trackpad 2 and then upgrading the software and everything now works great. Some thing in the beta is either not recognizing the trackpad or recognizing it as a mighty mouse I had both issues. Works on multiple machines tested this fix on my 5k iMac and Macbook 13in retina pro (fully loaded) and both work perfectly now....

I just downgraded from El Capitan 10.11.1 Beta to the standard app store 10.11 El capitan it is a free download. Then after I downgraded and installed the trackpad. I was able to upgrade again to the beta with no issues.

I have exactly the same problem with the final version 10.11.1. The trackpad is connected and working well, unfortunately it is not configurable because under "Settings" -> "Trackpad" -> "Set Up Bluetooth Trackpad" the device is not found. Any solution?

Try leaving the Trackpad connected via Lightning to Mac USB port. Once I did this it paired and I could take the cable off, but if you continue to have problems you might need to keep the cable plugged in until Apple updates drivers.
