That's disappointing as I think it would be reasonable to understand how your storage is made up in order to ensure you are not purchasing more storage unecessarily. I.e.it would always be in apples interest to sell you to more storage and what's to stop them storing 4 copies of everything unnecessarily ?
I have about 2000 photos which I thought would on average would be about 3.00MB each making my storage requirements about 6GB so nothing like the 38GB stated. The storage requirements of the same library of pictures seemed to increase only when I upgraded to i.o.s. 9.00

I still can't believe you cannot get a breakdown of your storage. Surely Apple have a responsibility to their customers otherwise they could just duplicate everything in the cloud, forcing you to buy more storage ! No, they wouldn't do this would they. Equally somehow I could have unwittingly stored things twice .
C'est la vie ! Thanks for wandering anyway.
