I had a spreadsheet I've been working on for the last month+. After updating my operating system to version 10.10.5 recently, I'm now missing this spreadsheet. Any clue where it went?

I'd do this...
Bootup holding CMD+r, or the Option/alt key to boot from the Restore partition & use Disk Utility from there to Repair the Disk, then Repair Permissions.
I recently updated to v10.5.5 and am now missing an important excel file.
