Anyone have a derby.log file hog their hard drive space?!

In my user file on my boot drive, a derby.log file started showing up. It's size continues to grow until the OS warns me that my drive is nearly full. I have to reboot and delete the file... Only to have it reappear and start metastasizing again. Is this necessary to the OS,? I suspect malware, but I cannot find anything online to even know what it is! It continues to grow even if I am not on the internet. HELP!!!
