Oct 16, 2015 1:27 PM in response to alex_h1by DesertRatR,Thanks Alex. No, no error message. It simply will not back up to iCloud. It was, until Sept 29. The phone informed me a couple of days ago that it hadn't backed up since Sept 29. I checked and sure enough, despite the radio button for iCloud backup selected, it was not backing up. I tried manually backing up to iCloud and it nicely backed up to my iMac. It has lost the ability to back up to iCloud. Rebooting both machines did nothing.
Sep 29 may have been the day I installed iOS 9. I can't quite recall. The problem seems to be associated with iOS 9. Interestingly, my iPad seems to be manually backing up to iCloud OK. It won't do it automatically. But it will do it manually.
Late last month I did a hard reset (i.e. restored as new), Apple store tech recommendation to try to solve another problem. The other problem did not resolve. It was after that when I did the iOS 9 install. I have an appointment at the Apple store Sunday to try to resolve the original problem. I will mention this also.
There seems to be a lot of internet chatter about not properly backing up to iCloud. At least complaints, but no resolutions I can find. I am guessing it is iOS 9 related, and that maybe someday Apple will patch for it, someday. If they are aware of it.
