So in the disk utilty I select the 500,11GB Apple HDD..... main partition(or how it is called) then I go to the partition tab and press + button I name the partition and go further then it asks me if I am sure if I want to make that partition. I press partition. After that when it try to make a partition it says Partitioning failed and I press oke, after that I have partition called Disk0s2, which I can't use or repair. This means that I have a useless mac with nothing on it. Please help me.

Oct 16, 2015 3:11 PM in response to rowns1by OGELTHORPE,Based on the images that you posted, it appears that there is no user data on the HDD. Since you indicated that your brother has the same MBP, I suggest that you connect it to yours via Target Disk Mode:

This will allow you to determine exactly what data is on your MBP and allow you to copy it to your brothers MBP or an external HDD. It may also confirm my suspicion that the user data is gone.
Then I suggest that you erase the HDD and reinstall the OSX. That should eliminate the problems that you are currently dealing with.
