Can't install Windows 10 via boot camp OS X El Capitan for MacBook air 11" early 2015

At first I tried to install various ISO images with windows 10. There was an error that driver not found media.

I had such a problem!

What is weird?

1.Boot camp is not like before. There is no such window like that:

make-windows-10-install-usb-drive-from-mac-os-x1.jpg

2. Once it appears select iso image and select partition disk.

3. Then start installation.

4. Then reboot, start windows installation, choose language and error (There was an error that driver not found media)!

After all failed attempts, the guys on the forum suggested that problem is in non-working iso image.

I started the process again from the beginning.

1.Then I downloaded the image windose 10 from a reliable site. Verify hash sums of two files. All hash sums matched after downloading.

2.I Launched the BCA and begin the installation again. Meanwhile a system downloading the windows support files.

3. Started reloading and the choice of language.

4.And again error: could not find media...

The problem repeated itself!

After reboot I went into disk utility. There is.

I think that the bootcamp drive and osxresrved disk is not bootable and this problem appeared.

Please help to resolve this probleme!

I downloaded the windows 10 and windows 8.1 from the site you gave a link.https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/software-download/home

But the result still the same..

    IMG_2693.JPG

after reboot, windows begins installing. Then choose language and again there is no driver media.

Please find a solution to this problem.

    p.s.

if you just restart and press alt, you will have a choice of two boot loaders: macintosh and windows. If you select windows again it starts to install windows, and then all the same.

But after entering the mac os, partition "osxreserved" disappears. The bootcamp partition is empty.

    Hi,

I was struggling with installing Windows on Early 2015 Mac for couple of days. It seems that there are settings of partition tables which are incompatible between Windows and Mac, so I was trying different options before found the one :-) (using partition image to save and restore system). However now I can install Windows 8.1 or Windows 10 on this Mac Book without any further problems.

    So my suggestion:

    1. Buy 2 big pendrives (I mean 64 GB or more)
    2. Use Mac restore to install MacOSX on one pendrive
    3. Boot from Pendrive to MacOSX and clear all partitions from hard drive (I know this is brutal)
    4. Prepare Windows installation drive using BootCamp assistant on the second Pendrive
    5. After starting from the second pendrive (windows install) prepare new partitions on the disk (Windows needs to have 2-4 small partitions in some kind of predefined order) and do not use whole disk (leave some space for MacOSX)
    6. You may stop installation at this point and install MacOSX first (after Windows has created partition table)
    7. After getting back (starting back Windows installation) you should be able to continue installation on the partitions you have created in step 5

Of course you may experiment a little bit with different GUID partitions and the order in which you create them (I was also using partition magick-like software to manage the partition table, but I was trying so many options that I hardly remember it).

    Good luck.

    Best,

Thanks for the advice and detailed description.

But I don't understand why apple makes such problems? I hope your method works. But, while I'm not going to try.

Admin, please comment on this problem and report it to Apple.

    This problem not only me.

Is there any method to fix the problem and install windows 10 or 8.1?

Hi, my partitions on the disk look like this (see picture - I have gone through a little bit more complex procedure leaving some space for MacOSX partition 64 GB before Windows partition, however this was more difficult). I think it is not Apple this time - it is problem with Windows, which wants to have some EFI partition as the first on the disk.

    4. Prepare Windows installation drive using BootCamp assistant on the second Pendrive - please explain more how to Prepare Windows installation drive using BootCamp assistant?

My BCA don't offer to create windows installation drive. BCA do it without flash drive. How to get windows installation drive?

Apple EFI is 200MB, Windows MSR is next at 128MB, these two should be first. The remainder of the disk can have any arbitrary layout, and the Windows 10 installation should be done using EFI. The 2015 MBA is a UEFI machine. W8.1 will work (but W7 and W8 are problematic with EFI). In your current layout, it is a bit easier than separating MSR and MSD parts and giving the installer a Free Space chunk will let it do the right steps.

In the END! Rolled up to Yosemite and now no problems with the installation of windows 8 or 10. BCA works fine on yosemite! Conclusion: unfortunately, el capitan is a buggy OS. All the images with windows 8, 8.1, 10 I've tried to install on the el capitan via BCA was working.

    P.S.

If only the iphone 6plus to roll back from ios 9 to ios 8 and it would be happiness

I have quite similar problem but it's even worse, with MBA 2015; after running the BCA and restart, but never boot into windows installation, just boot into OS X and.. that's it!!!!

Feel crazy now, I think the method install Yosemite might help but now can't download the Yosemite installation from App Store anymore?

    ....Stuck Suck

I found a way to downgrade to Yosemite. But the installation thru Bootcamp has the same outcome, just get a little further into windows install interface, and then file missing error!!!

    Officially give up!
