Q: Exchange contacts 'hijack' iCloud contacts

Hello everyone,

I have 3 users who use iPhones, when they sync to our exchange server and pick to sync their exchange contacts something strange happens... The exchange contacts automatically merge then take over the iCloud / personal contacts. For instance: I have a personal contact called BC. I then sync my exchange contacts. BC also happens to be in the exchange global contact list which uses that persons full name, ABC, instead. Later when I try to find BC by searching by name, the phones will not find it, I have to search ABC because that is how it is in the Global Address Book from the company and that took over the personal contact. I hope this makes sense, it is very annoying because these users are sales people so they have a ton of contacts they are used to being able to find a certain way, but when exchange syncs it breaks them all. It could be a setting buried away on the exchange server but I do not think so. I would like to be able to solve this without the use of a third party app - we tried one that was supposed to sandbox the exchange contacts but that did not work. FYI - I am an android / PC person so if what I am saying seems off please bear with me

iPhone 6, iOS 9
