Q: My iphone is not using cellular when on a wifi network with no or degraded internet connection for non native apple apps.  Is anyone else seeing this?  Am I doing something wrong?

    Your iPhone will automatically connect to a Wi-Fi network if it's enabled in Settings > Wi-Fi.

     

    There's no reason to use a cellular connection while using Wi-Fi. The leas time you use a cellular connection, the less data you use which should save $$$.

    Sorry I must not have been clear.  The wifi has no internet connection.  The wifi is used to connect other devices over wifi.  Apple's latest OS update says if the wifi signal is weak it will use the cellar connection to get to the internet.  It appears it is only doing that for Apple native apps on the iPhone.  Other apps are not using the cellular for internet connection.
