Q: Mail "Account already exists"

I have two accounts in Mail 9.0, an iCloud (IMAP) account and a Telus (Pop) account.   I want to migrate a third Telus IMAP account from Thunderbird to Mail.  When I try to add an account and put in my Telus email address and password for that account it says "the account already exists".  However It doesn't show up in System Preferences > Internet Accounts or anywhere else I can spot.

I have seen suggestions in other threads to delete the SMTP settings as a solution and re-enter but this would affect the other Telus account that uses the same SMTP setting.

Seems that particular sign in for that account was created in the past at some point, even if it wasn't for mail. Somehow it just got stuck and invisible to Internet Accounts. Guess trying to recreate it made it visible where you could manage it from there.

Hard to say exactly what did it, but glad you got it working.
