Q: El Capitan doesn't detect external screens
Since I updated to El Capitan, I can't connect my MacBook Air to any external screens. I work with presentations, I used to connect my MacBook to a projector using my VGA adapter, but now it just doesn't work anymore.
I've read that resetting the SMC might help, but I have no idea about that, I'm new to MacBooks...
Any help will be welcome!

Hi PauliBC,
Thanks for contributing to the Apple Support Communities.
If connecting your MacBook Air to external displays and projectors doesn't work since updating to El Capitan, resetting the SMC may help.
You can find instructions for this step at Resetting the System Management Controller (SMC) on your Mac. See the section for "How to reset the SMC - On Mac notebooks with non-removable battery."
If that doesn't solve it, next go through all the troubleshooting steps in the "No video or no signal, image distortion, 'snow,' or flickering" section of Apple computers: Troubleshooting issues with video on internal or external displays.
All the best.
