Q: I recently had to reset my Macbook and now I'm missing apps :(

I recently had to reset my Macbook which is only a few months old and now half of my apps are gone such as pages, keynote and things like that. Is there a way to get them back? There were on here when I bought it and now they're gone. I wouldn't of reset it had I of known I would lose them but when I purchased it, my boyfriend set it up under his account and I the only way I could fix it was to reset it. HELP!

MacBook Air, OS X Yosemite (10.10.5)

Open App Store and re-download Apps from purchased tab by your boyfriend account, though not sure it's legally right or not.

Your "Boyfriend's" apps are not yours and can't be associated with your Apple ID, unless he adds you as a family member in Family Sharing.

Unless you are really certain that your relationship is permanent, it may not be a good idea. Because the moment he cancels you as a family member, you will never be able to update the apps that were previously purchased, nor reinstall them if you need to "reset" your computer again.

They we're not purchased by my boyfriend. They came on my MacBook when I purchased it. he set it up for me while I was at work and entered his information thinking I could sign on with my own as well. And that wasn't the case so we reset it and now they're gone.

That being the case, included apps can simply be reloaded from the app store. Check the "purchased" tab, and the "updates" tab for the included apps. Any "free" apps which were installed may have to be searched for in the store.
