Q: visual voicemail

i have a red dot by my phone icon. When I click on my messages , it says I don't have access to visual voicemail. This dot just appeared out of no where. I didn't install visual voicemail or ask for it. I cannot access anything through my verison app and I looked through the settings and found nothing there either! How do I get this annoying red dot? I even deleated all my messages, turned off my phone... annoying red dot still there!!

please help!!

    Hi angandkali,

I understand that you are having some issues with your iPhone with a red dot on the Phone app. Now you bring up Visual Voicemail, that is a feature of your iPhone. That is how all your voicemails show up in a list and you can pick and choose the voicemails to listen to.

To get this sorted out, start with the article below. It will have you update settings if they are needed as well as resetting your voicemail password.

HI Norm, thanks for the reply! I saw this post, read it , tried everything. What finally worked was = to go into settings, general, reset and then reset network settings. I never set , asked or wanted visual voicemail on my phone. It just appeared suddenly with a red dot on my messages! It wouldn't let me set up or accept any passwords for it, I just wanted the red dot gone and I wanted to access my voicemail in my usual manner. Its working now and thank you for your time to bother writing me back Norm! I appreciate it!
