Thanks for using Apple Support Communities.
If your Wi-Fi card is not even being recognized in the system information, then I suggest that you reset the SMC.
On Mac notebooks with removable battery
Older MacBook and MacBook Pro computers have removable batteries. Learn about removing the battery on MacBook and MacBook Pro.
To reset the SMC:
- Shut down the computer.
- Disconnect the MagSafe power adapter from the computer if it's connected.
- Remove the battery.
- Press and hold the power button for five seconds.
- Release the power button.
- Reconnect the battery and MagSafe power adapter.
- Press the power button to turn on the computer.

Take care.

Oct 26, 2015 2:59 PM in response to jonesdb3by chilelime7,you could try this but not sure if it will work for you too.
My setup: MacBook pro (2015) & OS: El Capitain
Did the OS update and restarted and then my Wi-Fi stopped working and gave the "Wifi: No hardware installed" error.
Here is what they recommended that worked for me:
1) Shut down all applications (except for Finder - leave this open). To do this press Option + Command + Esc at the same time. Then close all apps.
2) Completely shut down your computer
3) While its off, press all of these at the same time Ctrl+option+shift+power and hold this down for a good 5 seconds. Then release at the same time.
4) power on your device normally using the power button. Hope this helps.
