wifi-connection drops after El Capitan upgrade "request timeout" same issue as in Maverick+Yosemite? Any ideas how to fix it?

Hi Mac-community!

After my upgrade to El Capitan my wifi-connection got unstable... either I have "request timeout" or the ping shows a very slow connection... I can't access the www properly.

I found this on a site:

"The unstable connection turned out to be a problem with Mac OS X Yosemite (v10.10.3) and is apparently a common thing. It was not a problem with the modem, router, or ISP.

There are numerous potential solutions to this problem posted all over the internet, but the one that worked for me was found in this Apple discussion thread.

Solution

Move your

/Library/Preferences/SystemConfiguration
folder to your Desktop (so you have a backup) and reboot. OS X will regenerate default network settings upon reboot.

sudo mv /Library/Preferences/SystemConfiguration ~/Desktop sudo shutdown -r now

"
But I'm a layperson and I'm unsure if I should try this Yosemite suggestion out.

As you all might imagine, the issue is really annoying.

Has anyone the same problem? Any ideas how to fix it?

Help would be much appreciated!
