BuildError(): error building a user of type 0x20010008

After updating to Mac OS x 10.11 El Capiton on my Macbook Air 11 everything went OK, until I rebooted.

The result is a that when the Mac boots and I enter the password the Mac is blocked with a gray line displaying under the user id and not advancing.

Booted with Command S the first messages before the password prompt is

BuildError(): error building a user of type 0x20010008
then when the password is entered two screens with errors roll by and the screen blocks. after an error Debugger called: <panic> and a little later Mac OS version: Not yet set.

I have tried to resin tall el Capitan again from recovery boot and this works until I rebooted the mac again. Same errors occur. So I am in a loop.

What should I do?

This has to do with FileVault.

Start in recovery mode (command-R at start), unlock your hard drive using your encryption password.

Run check disk. Reboot.

This seems to keep the disk unlocked for a reboot to succeed.

After a successful login, disable FileVault and let it decrypt the disk completely.

When done, you can activate FileVault again.

Worked for me, hopefully for others.
