Q: USB Bootcamp problem

Hello. I got one problem to make a USB bootable for bootcamp.

Is a 16GB Kingston and when i try to make a bootable USB Drive with windows 7, with Bootcamp Assistant i got one error:

The USB drive don't have enough space.

Why that?

iMac, OS X El Capitan (10.11), null

Your iMac will not install Windows using a USB. You need to create a DVD and use the built-in SuperDrive to install Windows.

It worked by USB with windows 8.1 pro, but i cannot use 8.1 because there are no driver for my mac. My superdrive at last check on Apple Store told me that work, but when i put one DVD/CD inside, it will eject after some seconds i don't know why.

On the OSX side, if you insert a DVD, can Finder see it? Please also test with a CD, an Audio CD, if you can.

Tested right now, it will try to read and after some seconds will eject the disk.

Holy God, never tried that. audio cd work! But all other dvds, like for example one movie etc, will be rejected

As a test, start Application -> Utilities -> DVD Player. Insert a DVD-Video, and test if the DVD Player plays it correctly.

Followed your instruction. Opened DVD Player and tried with 3 different movie dvd and don't work, superdrive reject the dvd after some seconds.

You can ask the closest Apple Store or Apple Reseller. Most likely case is that they will tell you it needs to be replaced. The issue is related to an expired CSS certificate on such Optical drives, but Apple will not admit the issue.

Try cleaning the lens of the Optical drive. You can use a plastic card (like a Credit Card) and a thin microfiber cloth and see if it helps.
