iMac no longer recognises my USB from camera since updating to OX EL Capitan

i have a Sony DSC- RX100 digital camera. I have been uploading photos via USB onto my Apple I Mac without a problem. however since I updated my iMac with OX El Captain this morning the camera USB is no longer recognised so i am unable to upload my photos to computer.

Any advice would be grateful received.

iMac, OS X El Capitan (10.11)

My RX100 Wireless Auto Import does not work with OS X 10.11, but USB connection works just fine.

Be sure your camera is off, connect it to USB, power the camera on (green light), and wait for the USB connection to be established. After a few seconds, mine shows that the USB connection is successful on the camera's display, and the PMHOME and UNTITLED (SD Card name) show up on the El Capitan Desktop as two external devices.

If you have not deselected the "Open Photos with this device" checkbox, Photos will open. Otherwise, you can open other apps like iPhoto or iMage Capture for importing or copy directly using Finder.

Be sure to eject the PMHOME and UNTITLED devices and power the camera off before you disconnect your USB cable.
