Mainstage 3.2.1, RD-300sx, Expression Pedal defaults to "soft pedal", will not control volume

Hello all,

I can't seem to properly set up the expression pedal I'm trying to use with MainStage 3.2.1. Each time I add an expression pedal in layout mode, then assign it to my expression pedal, the default is "soft pedal 67", and not expression #11 or volume which is what I'd like to control with it. When I try to switch it's assignment, the pedal no longer controls anything. Is this a problem with my keyboard sending the wrong midi message? Can I change this within MainStage if so? Thank you in advance for you help!

That's brilliant, thank you. I had found a workaround just before you replied, one that doesn't rely on the midi message being sent into MainStage. Based on this article, I was able to reassign the pedal to be a volume control. I was trying to do that before, but my method wasn't working. But I think I will also try your suggestion, which deals more accurately with my keyboard and the midi messages it's relaying to MainStage. I read the manual to try and find this info, but I was reading the wrong section. Again, thank you so much for this advice!
