Thanks not a Lacie issue. The cloud drive is visible and works on windows machine and on mac with yosemite installed. On the El Capitan machine the cloud drive shows up under shared drives but it is greyed out and has a ? mark beside it. The machine cannot connect to the drive.
Same problem here connecting to Lacie Cloudbox after El Capitan update. I was hoping the 10.11.1 update would fix the issue but nope! There is at least one other thread where people are having same issue with other NAS drives after updating to El Capitan.
I have the same problem. However tho time machine is able to back-up to the drive, web access to the drive also works perfectly, only in Finder I can't connect to the drive. I'm back on Yosemite from a back-up on the drive. Waiting for an update on this subject before I upgrade to El Capitan again.
I have same problems. I rememeber this occured also after maveric or yosemite update.
You can access the drive by using Finder if you go to the Go tab and inserting in "Connect To Server"
afp://lacie-cloudbox.local
You can then copy to and from the NAS.
Also you can access the NAS via the Network Assistant.
Your instructions don't work. Also the firmware update is not for Cloudbox, but for Thuderbolt products.
When is Lacie actually going to address this? Its been long enough!
Sorry it didn't work for you but it does for my Cloudbox. Another route is via the LaCie Network Assistant.
The upgrade I referred to was for my LaCie Cloudbox and dated 31/10/15; my Cloudbox is ethernet so presumably it was noting to do with Thunderbolt connectivity? Anyway it made no changes to the connectivity problem.
I believe the El Capitan update affected NAS drives (connected via Ethernet), not just LaCie NAS drives. I spoke to AppleCare and it sounds like they are aware of the issue and it will be addressed in an update. The alternative way to connect via finder worked for me in the interim. Make sure the settings you enter are correct.
Thanks, this worked very good!
I wrote to LaCie and they provided me with the following solution, which worked great!
First go here and download the LaCie Network Assistant if you don't have it already... http://www.lacie.com/ca/en/support/network-storage/2big-network-2/
Then follow these instructions...
Mount Folders Automatically with LaCie Network Assistant
I have the same problem but I cannot download lacie network assistant. the icon appears in my launchpad but when i click on in it I get this:
“LaCie Network Assistant” can’t be opened because the identity of the developer cannot be confirmed.
Your security preferences allow installation of only apps from the Mac App Store and identified developers.
Ok - sort out my own problem by changing my security settings, will now try the rest....
I can't click on authentication as it greyed out - any suggestions?
You have to access your system (the apple, systeminställningar) and the security and integrity. Look under "allmänt" and allow apps (program) from "var som helst", In order to be able to change this you have to "open the lock" at the very bottom to the left!
I have had issues with Time Machine Back Up's to my LaCie Cloudbox since upgrading to El Capitan. Will this fix solve those issue relating to Time Machine backups not Verifying and having to create new backups? Does LaCie Network Assistance need to always be open to mount my CloudBox each time I turn on my machine?
