Printing the highlights in Pages 5.2.2

I exported my Pages document to PDF and when I prepared it to print, I noticed the highlights hadn't reproduced on the PDF.

So I tried printing directly from Pages but the same thing happened. The highlights aren't on the preview.

Does anyone know how I can get either export to PDF and retain the highlights or print direct from Pages, highlights and all?

Thanks in anticipation. 🙂

Good Grief!
They'll have to pay me more money. That's a lot of work. lol

Thanks. I'll give it a whirl. 😀

Maybe I should try to make it a style?

Edit:

There is no ADVANCED OPTIONS under CHARACTER STYLES.

It goes . . . NONE / LINK / ITALIC / EMPHASIS / STRIKE THROUGH / UNDERLINE / RED

Or am I looking in the wrong places. I tried FORMAT in the MENU and FORMAT in the sidebar.

And there is no background colour as one can use in Gmail.

What now?

Unbelievable.

Thanks.

I just highlighted a sample piece of text but I have no idea why it worked except for me following your screen shots. Nowhere does it say colour the background or highlight the text. Not intuitive at all.

Sheesh. It's not like HIGHLIGHT has copyright on the word!

And it's not as if CHARACTER FILL could mean colour the background.

Thanks so much Ian.
