Pantone's Huey vs ColorVision's Spyder2express

I am just starting to look into monitor color calibration products. I'd heard about Huey as being good, affordable and easy to use. Then while investigating further I found that there is an express version of Spyder (which seems to be the benchmark). Just wondering if anyone has tried these and can compare and/or recommend either of them. Any comments from those who have used either or both would really be appreciated.

I looked at them all, played with them a bit, at PhotoExpo. I was going to buy the Huey but it was too restrictive for me (no gamma and no measurement or ambient light). GretagMacbeth seemed overpriced and I couldn't find the Spyder stand. However, Pantone seems to own them all now (unless they just market them all).

I ended up with the Eye-One. I can select a different white point (I chose medium warm 5500K), save multiple profiles (daytime lighting and evening lighting) and set the gamma I want. Visible differences between what my eyeballs Mk1 and the Eye-One set .... and I assume the Eye-One is the correct.

I have a spyder2express, upgraded to a GretagMacbeth EyeOne, then got a Huey for free at a color seminar. My experiences:

The EyeOne is spot on perfect, and has the benefit of being able to profile not only monitors but scanners, cameras and printers for a completely synced color workflow. It can also ambient profile the color temperature of light sources and camera flashes... even projectors with an add-on.

The Spyder did an okay job of profiling my monitors, but I never felt it was as accurate as the EyeOne.

The Huey has a terribly clunky interface. It consistently profiled all of my monitors with a magenta cast. It's ambient light monitoring and screen re-caibration where annoying. I also felt like there was something not right about applying tiny suction cups directly to expensive LCD screens...

I hope this helps.
