what is a recovery mode because i do not know how too work that on m ipod?

What is the problem that you are having with your iPod ? Your post's title, 'need help installed itunes on my iPod' - there is a built-in iTunes store app on iOS devices, you don't need to install it (if it's not showing then check to see if it's hidden via Settings > General > Restrictions > iTunes Store 'off')
