We lost our Apple TV remote but I have set up the Remote app on my iPhone and also set up the
AUX button on my xfinity Comcast remote to control the Apple TV (http://www.cnet.com/how-to/what-to-do-if-you-lose-your-apple-tv-remote/). However, I am not able to find a way to program the power on/off button to be able to turn the Apple TV on or off! Any ideas? Thanks.

remote with IR and wireless - controls all your stuff even

Thanks, Tom! That looks great, but I'm hoping not to buy a new remote (even the $19 Apple remote!). I'll keep it in mind, though . . . . Thanks for the suggestion.
Hi - doesn't provide an Off state for the device - the nearest thing
is the Sleep Now command in Settings (main) or these remote
commands (I hope the below is a link, otherwise easy to Google)
