Weak signal... what are my options?

I got Tivo Desktop to work to publish my iTunes and iPhoto stuff to my Tivo. Unfortunately, the Tivo is so far from my base station (Linksys) that the Tivo only get about 30% signal. This makes access to iTunes and iPhoto on the Tivo slow and subject to dropping out.

Getting the Tivo and base station closer together is unlikely based on the lay-out of my house (they're at opposite ends of the house).

I use a Linksys USB access point for the Tivo (Tivo will only work with 802.11b.

What are my options for improving the signal strength so iTunes and iPhoto will become useful features on the Tivo?
