Clicking on email icon opens Chrome instead of Apple Mail

Someone the service for sending data to Apple Mail has been corrupted. While in Contacts for instance next to a contacts email address is a little icon. When I click on this icon it open Google Chrome instead of opening my default email program which is Apple Mail. Not sure how to remedy this issue.

Also, in the services menu or contextual menus in Safari under email page. If I select that option Google Chrome opens instead of Apple Mail.

iMac, OS X Yosemite (10.10.3)

I got it. I didn't do this but somehow in Apple Mail in the General settings Google Chrome was selected as the Default App. So, simple.

Set the default email app and web browser on your Mac - Apple Support

Thank you but that's not it.

For some reason, not sure what to call them, but I'll just use "software service links". For instance in Safari Menu File> Share>Email This Page. The icon shows up as a Google Chrome icon not Apple Mail icon. Not sure how this switch happened. Again in the Contacts Application, when clicking on the little Mail icon next to a person's email address Google Chrome opens up instead of creating a new email with that person's email address in the default email application which is Apple Mail.

Open your Contacts and go to the Accounts preference pane. Make sure the email account there is enabled:
