Q: find my iPhone

I have purchased an iPad Air from an auction and it is erased but is still on the previous owners apple account for find my iPhone.  I don't know who that person is in order to ask them to remove the device from their account.

is it possible to setup the iPad or is this just a piece of junk now?

Any help or advice would be appreciated.

iPad Air, iOS 9

I'm afraid that unless the previous owner disassociates the iPad from his/hers Apple ID, it is indeed a piece of junk. If the auction was eBay or similar, take it up with them.

Thank you for the response.  Unfortunatley it wasn't ebay. It was from a local auction house who deal with customer returns from a major store.

It seems like I will have to give it to my 18 month old daughter to play around with.
