Only possible now on El Capitan using command line.
Any idea why?
It doesn't work properly with SSD and it is also harmful to SSD so Apple eliminated it from the gui.
Another argument is if you don't have it encrypted before deleting it, then it's not very secure anyways, so why worry about it once you deleted it. And, if it is encrypted, then there's no need for secure delete.
I guess anyone can rationalize anything away to justify an action.
Thank Allen and Whickwithy your assistance is greatly appreciated.
In parting . . . with of you experiencing unexpected quoting of applications?
Thank you again.

"with of you experiencing unexpected quoting of applications?"
I'm afraid I don't know what that means.
I must concur that your part question is totally meaningless to me also.
Another point that may interest you is that there is a way to encrypt just files, not your whole computer (filevault) using disk utility. You can get plenty of suggestions on the web on how to do it. Basically, it is using file>new image>image from folder. As I just discovered this myself, I'm not ready to go into more detail. Heck, I'm not even sure what image means!
Don't touch CleanMyMac, or any other such trash software with your worst enemy's 10 foot pole.
If security is a concern to you OS 10.11 allows you to use FileVault.
Use FileVault to encrypt the startup disk on your Mac - Apple Support
there is also a Delete Immedatly feature accessible by CRLT+LBM or RMB of a file or files from a folder or in the trash.
CleanMyMac is one of the worst pieces of crapware that can be loaded on a Mac
I strongly recommend against the use of it.

DO NOT INSTALL UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCE!!!
No. Just.....no. CleanMyMac and all of its ilk are garbage and nothing but trouble. They're scams, and people who install them on their hard drives are asking for a lot of problems they don't need and didn't ask for. All you have to do is search these forums for "CleanMyMac" or "MacKeeper" and you'll see what I mean.
