Texts and messaging disappearing?

Immediately prior to doing the IOS 9 update my phone locked up. I was told by apple support that I
HAD to do the update to unlock it. So I did that. Since the update I have had to restore and reinstall backups 4 times when my phone shuts off due to battery because messages disappear and the phone will not allow me to restore imessages. Called Apple Support today and was told to reset all phone settings did that and got disconnected from apple support and now the phone is basically locked. It is not resetting. I am attempting to restore factory settings but it is not doing that either. I am REALLY over this kind of thing happening with every new phone release. If Apple support can't fix it then who can? I feel like Apple is doing this on purpose to force me to buy a new phone and that can't be legal. Just a thought....

I feel like that your thinking is a bit skewed and over the top. Do you really think that the richest company in the world has singled you out to try to coerce you into buying a new Phone?

If nothing else is working try using recovery mode.

If you can't update or restore your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch - Apple Support

The richest company in the world only stays rich if people buy their products. This messaging issue is not just affecting me. In fact the description of what IOS 9 fixes is messaging. I have read that in fact the upgrade has screwed up thousands of phones. I have also had several conversations with employees who pretty readily admit that new operating systems are made to work with the newest versions of the phone. Thus, Apple knows full well that they will cause gltiches in older versions. When customers get frustrated enough they will just upgrade. New phones/products are how they make money. My issue is requiring me to upgrade to an operating system that was not designed for my phone. My point is much larger than just my phone. It is not over the top but in fact on point about the things that are wrong with the allegedly customer focused richest company in the world.
