I am an Apple fan and have had every iPhone except the 5. I have always updated my iOS as soon as it has come out. I have never had issues like I do with iOS 9.2. Its not just the bluetooth. I also have had my alarm not work MANY times, my phone reboot itself, my phone ask for a passcode instead of accepting my finger print because it thinks the phone was rebooted, and my iPad Air 2 sit and hang at the logo and not come on without repeated effort. Basically iOS 9.2 made both my iPhone 6s Plus and my iPad Air 2 extremely buggy. Again, I had had iPhones since the very first one and never had issues like this with any iOS. I can accept that maybe they need to work out some bugs, but what annoys me greatly is that I cannot down grade to a working iOS!

I have the same problem, upgraded to 9.2 and now my iPhone 5S will not connect via bluetooth in my BMW 4 series. It worked fine for the past year before the upgrade. This is extremely frustrating as I use my hands free function for work on a daily basis - as so many others do. I've been an Apple guy since 1984 and am finally coming round to the idea that their attention to detail and customer service is woefully inadequate. It may force me to go Android. Come on Apple - get a fix out there immediately. I've tried all the recommended fixes - turning off siri, iCloud, renaming the device, etc. Nothing works. This is an unforgivable setback in the phone's functionality - to not be able to use bluetooth in the car. Unbelievable!

After my bluetooth went out after upgrading to 9.2 I called Apple support and they told me to reset all network settings.

Settings - General - Reset - Reset network settings...

That did the trick! Bluetooth back up.

Yes I have to re-log in to other wi-fi networks when I first get back on them but that only takes a few seconds.

Point is the reset worked for me and now I'm back in good shape with bluetooth connection in my 2015 BMW 4 series.

Hopes this fix helps other people.

Still not cool that Apple hasn't fixed this problem but at least they gave me a solution...

Same here. 2015 Kia Optima with an iPhone 6. I stream my music through my car and every time i press next on my steering wheel or on the radio itself it disconnects and refuses to see the device. If i disconnect the phone no noise will come out (music or videos) until I restart my phone. It will allow me to press next on the phone screen instead of using the car to control it.

I told Apple about my problem - they reset all settings and it still happened. I went back - they wiped the phone completely and it still happened. I went back again - they replaced the phone and didn't restore the backup (thinking it could somehow be related to my files) and it still happened! They finally told me it had to be the car. I brought it to my local Kia dealership - they replaced the radio and it still happens! They told me to go to Verizon who basically told me that I just had to wait for new software.

I have noticed that if I plug the phone in through USB instead of just streaming my music through Bluetooth and press next on the radio instead of the steering wheel it will let me press next a few times before disconnecting immediately like Bluetooth alone.

This really needs to get fixed. The whole point of Bluetooth is to be safer by being hands-free! If my hand is on the phone to change the song then it's not hands-free at all!

I also heard the same thing. Someone told me that Apple jumped right into a new industry accepted protocol before the rest of the world was ready. My phone still works via bluetooth as long as I leave Siri turned off. My GMC dealer told me that there is a service bulletin out that states that it's an Apple issue, not a GM issue.

Same here on my '15 Silverado. After going back to 9.1 and no issues I tried the 9.2.1 and its still broken. Goes to iphone music after phone calls and HFP prompts no matter what what mode it was in Turning off Siri and restarting the phone and it all works - except for Siri of course. Annoying..

I had been having Bluetooth issues since upgrading to iOS 9.2 on my iPhone 6 - it would connect with my brand new Mercedes Van, shutting off music while attempting to make calls, but the calls did not actually come through (which annoyed me and the people I was attempting to call). I did as JoeyP_UK suggested and managed to get my iPhone working again. Life saver.

I can confirm that the 9.3 beta does **not fix the problem. (at least it doesn't fix my problem)

Issues:

1. When phone paired- driving listening to XM Radio someone calls. Talk for a minute handsfree (which works fine) then when I hang up the phone just starts playing whatever media was last playing on my phone via bluetooth audio stream. Does NOT switch back to XM after I hang up. (This used to work fine)

2. When phone paired- opening an application like Facebook it switches the audio from Radio to Bluetooth/Iphone stream
