Q: Cannot delete iCloud backups

I cannot delete my iCloud data as described in Manage your iCloud storage under "Delete backups and turn off Backup for your device".

 

Instead of "Delete Backup", I only see "Change Storage Plan".

iPad Mini, iOS 9.0.2

Turns out you have to activate iCloud backup in order to be able to delete a backup.

 

Seems about as logical as displaying that the password for Find my iPad is wrong instead of telling you that you need to be online to log in.
