Mac Pro early 2009 processor upgrade

Hello !

can somebody help me with my big problem ?

i have a mac pro early 2009 4.1 2.66 quad core processor. i upgrade my firmware at 5.1

i just upgrade my video card (quadro k5000) but my processor are still old i need a better one

i want to upgrade my processor or my tray

i need a better processor or upgrade from one fizical processor to 2 fizical processor.

can that be possible? and how can i find what king of processor support my old mac.

Many Mac Pro owners are surprised to learn that the bottleneck in their Mac pro is NOT Processor speed, or even number of processors. It is usually I/O limitations.


If you are using one spinning drive for everything, your Mac will be severely limited in what you can accomplish.


Before you replace your processor, use Activity Monitor to make certain your "CPU load" is completely used up, and you have no time spent in "Idle".
