Hi,
I have a Apple TV 3rd gen and a MacBook Air 2012, and a iPhone 5. I can see under AirPlay on my phone the Apple TV, but when I go to my Mac I see nothing. Why is this? I have my firewall off, and they are both connected to the same WiFi network, I have Bluetooth turned on as well. Anyone have any ideas why it doesn't work?

You have not told us what OS X version your Mac is running. Your profile says OS X 10.3 (Panther), which is now twelve years old, but that cannot possibly run on a 2012 MacBook Air.
Do you have at least OS X Yosemite, if not later?

Sorry, my MacBook Air is running OS X 10.11.1 El Capitan, and my iPhone 5 is running iOS 9.1. And at the time it was meant to say 10.9.3. I haven't changed it in a while.
