Q: The apps on my dock won't open w/ one click.  I have to hold down the key and click "open"

The apps on my dock won't open w/ one click anymore.  Everything worked fine until yesterday.  I have to hold down the key and click "open."  I'm sure it's an easy fix, but I went to System Preferences and couldn't find it.

    More info please! Your profile says you have a MacBook but your post is in a fourm for pre-2006 iMacs. Very different computers! Also see the suggestions in Apple's article, "How to write a good question":

    So sorry.  Technologically impaired.  I solved it by shutting everything down and turning back on.  Thanks for your response.
