Q: Apple Power Mac G5

My friend gave me Apple Mac G5 with no hard drive or software on it. Can anyone please help me set it up. Can I download software for it and can I use my PC hard drive in MAC? Many thanks in advance.

 

Any help will be highly appreciated.

    You need to put a hard drive(it doesn’t need to be specifically intended for Macs) in it, and then install the OS from a compatible Mac OS X install DVD; if you don’t have one, phone Apple or buy a retail 10.5.6 or earlier DVD from a source such as Amazon or eBay. Not all pre-10.5 install DVDs will work with all G5s.
