Q: Buying a new Mac; Photo meta data

I will be purchasing a new mac. I want to know the photos app meta data will downloaded when the photos app imports my photos from the cloud back onto the mac.

Title, Description, Favorites, Keywords, Faces.

I spent so much time doing that on each photo, I would hate to see it not be backed up to the cloud.

iCLoud is not a backup - and faces and projects do not transfer (you can add keywords to faces to make it easy to redo) - but everything else - How Photos handles content and metadata from iPhoto and Aperture - Apple Support

And of course you can transfer your Photos library to the new machine and have everything for sure (no importing - just drag the library to the pictures folder of the new machine and launch Photos - it will verify that the library is in sync with iCloud Photos library (it says uploading but it is not) and you are set
