My iPad 2 has iOS 9.0.2 and for some reason has no longer a "private" on/off capability In Safari? Went to Safari privacy settings directly and there's no 'on/off' button to enable/disable the privacy function. Is there a way to get this function back without wiping the pad clean an reloading it? My iPhone 4s does not have this problem with iOS 9.0.2. Any help would be much appreciated!

This support article was just updated Sept. 25 so the instructions should work > Turn Private Browsing on or off on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch
Force restart your iPad then try those instructions.
Press and hold both the Sleep/Wake and Home buttons for at least ten seconds, until you see the Apple logo.
Thanks, Carolyn for your reply. My problem is: the word "private" is missing in the upper right corner next to the "+" symbol (that's next to the 'done' word) so I can't tap it to turn private browsing on or off. Is there a way to get the word 'private' back up there? Thanks, jim
Go to dettings> general> restrictions> remove all restrictions especially Websites.

Ok I went into settings to general and took off restrictions so do I need to do anything else to get the private browsing mode off and back on Safaari
