MacBook Air will not boot up, please help!!

I have been searching for questions throughout the discussion boards for a week now and every answer to those similar questions, I have tried!! I bought a used MacBook Air that had Mac OS X 10.6.8 on it. It did not have a recovery partition so I could wipe it clean, so I made one on a flash drive and finally figured out how to wipe the HD clean and I installed Mac OS X 10.7 on it. Now, when I try to boot it up, it chimes, goes to the Apple logo, and just shows the spinning wheel. I've left it like that all night 1 night, hoping it will boot up by morning. No such luck...

I have literally tried EVERYTHING I have looked up...Reset PRAM, SMC, Recovered & reinstalled Mac OS X, and Tried to boot in safe mode (still the same result). I really hope someone can help me, please?

You have no identified the exact MBA that you have.

If the original OSX was Leopard, install Leopard. Then install Snow leopard using the Snow Leopard retail disk available from the Apple online store. Then run the Snow Leopard combo update which will get the MBA to 10 6 8.

You can find the serial number here:

You may enter it here:

Snow Leopard is not available as a down load. If your MBA came with Leopard, you may order the Snow Leopard disk from the Apple online store:

http://www.apple.com/shop/product/MC573Z/A/mac-os-x-106-snow-leopard

If you MBP is a 2010 model, you will have to use the original installation disks. Duplicates can be ordered from Apple Customer Relations.

Looks like you have an original MBA. In order to install an OSX on it, you will need the Snow Leopard retail disk that I mentioned earlier:

http://www.apple.com/shop/product/MC573Z/A/mac-os-x-106-snow-leopard

Then run the Snow Leopard combo update:

https://support.apple.com/kb/DL1399?locale=en_US

Then that will allow you to install Lion, if you choose. Lion is the newest OSX that your model MBA will be able to run.

Ciao.
