iPhone 5s not showing in iTunes

Recently bought a brand new Macbook Pro, restored it to the setting of my previous Macbook using Time Machine. When I plug my iPhone 5s into my new computer it won't show up in iTunes. It does however open the photo app and let me import photos videos etc.

So far I've

• Restarted both the phone and computer several times

• Checked both are completely up to date

• Made sure the phone trusts the computer

• Tried using the other USB port

• Tried using a different cable

• I've reset the network and location setting on the phone

Is there anything I'm missing as I need to get audio off my phone for work 😟

Device not recognized because of cable issue (although user initially assured it was a good cable) - https://discussions.apple.com/thread/6912051?answerId=28002758022#28002758022

Is this the original Apple cable? Some third party cables only transfer power and no data signal.
