I'm sorry to see that you're having issues with your brand new iPhone 6s not responding, that's definitely not something that we want. Given that you're getting out of this unresponsive state by doing a hard reset, but it's still occurring, I suggest that you reinstall iOS by following the steps below.
- Connect your device to a computer and open iTunes. If you don't have a computer, you can borrow one, or go to an Apple Retail Store or Apple Authorized Service Provider for help.
- While your device is connected, force it to restart. Press and hold the Sleep/Wake and Home buttons at the same time. Don't release when you see the Apple logo. Keep holding until you see the Recovery mode screen.

- When you get the option to restore or update, choose Update. iTunes will try to reinstall iOS without erasing your data.

iTunes will download the software for your device. If it takes more than 15 minutes, your device will exit recovery mode and you'll need to repeat steps 2 and 3 again.

Oct 20, 2015 6:50 PM in response to judyfromelginby judyfromelgin,I'm back again. I was able to do another hard reboot and got the phone restarted (and I'm breathing again). Now I'm hesitant to do anything until I know what the 'unknown error 1671' means. I've double-checked to ensure iTunes, Mac and phone software are up-to-date....found all current with no additional updates necessary.

Oct 21, 2015 6:07 AM in response to judyfromelginby alex_h1,Hey Judy,
To continue troubleshooting this issue, and now error code, I suggest that you go through these steps below:
Your device or computer might have a hardware issue that stops the update or restore from completing.
- Check that your security software and settings aren't blocking your device from communicating with the Apple update server.
- Then try to restore your iOS device two more times while connected with a cable, computer, and network you know are good.
- Make sure that your security software and settings are allowing communication between your device and update servers.
- If you still see the error message when you update or restore, contact Apple support.
