Hi, over the last 3 months I have noticed that when my iPhone 5S is backing up to the cloud at night, it drops the wifi connection and backs it up using my data so I am using a huge amount of data outside of my monthly billing cycle. Does anyone know if something in the phone can be activated to only using wifi when doing the icloud backup?

I'm sorry you marked it as solved as well, but you still can not backup over cellular as you have been told several times now, nor can you schedule an iCloud backup.
No Demo i checked my usage and every night between 12am - 3am it comes off the wifi and uses my data so at the moment i have to keep turning my data off to stop it, i have heard on some other forums that Apple users experiencing the same issue.
How do you know that it is the backup that is using your data? Are you aware that with most carriers data that appears on your account between Midnight and 3AM was not actually used during that time; rather, it is the time that data used throughout the day was posted to the billing system?
Hi Lawrence, I set my icloud backup to happen after 12am at night so it happens every night between 12-3am and when i check last backup it matches the time. I just want to find a way that when the phone is only in a wifi area it won't change and start using data.
Your iCloud backups do NOT use data, they use WiFi. Something else is using your data. If you research it, you'll see that automatic iCloud backups happen under 3 conditions:
The device is plugged in to power.
The device's screen is locked.
The device is connected to a WiFi network.

How, exactly, did you set it to happen after 12am? There is no option to set a designated time period for iCloud backups.
I believe that you can only backup with iCloud if you are using WiFi. Something else is eating up all of your data.
